Volleyball Recap: Northview Takes a Loss

If Northview was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Southview last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Anthony Wayne Generals on Monday. The Wildcats have struggled against the Generals recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 26-28, 25-10, 25-9.

Talia Twigg paced Northview's offense, picking up nine kills. Twigg got some help from Alayna Sauer and her 21 assists. Brianna Langenderfer controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Anthony Wayne was led to victory by Jessie Kennelly and Charley Gardner. Kennelly had nine digs and two aces, while Gardner had 24 kills, 17 digs, and three aces. Gardner is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 35 games she's played dating back to last season.

Northview's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Anthony Wayne, the win was the 18th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-1.

Northview does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Anthony Wayne, they will be playing at home against Clay at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
