Volleyball Recap: Sandy Creek Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Sandy Creek challenged Doniphan-Trumbull on Monday. The Cougars took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. The Cougars have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Sandy Creek started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-23.

Emma Fisher paced Sandy Creek's offense, picking up 16 kills. Fisher got some help from Katelyn Pohlmeier and her 32 assists. Morgan Petr controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Sandy Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Doniphan-Trumbull, their victory ended a six-match drought on the road and puts them at 13-15.
