Soccer Game Preview: Buckingham vs. Amelia County

The Buckingham Knights will face off against the Amelia County Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Buckingham headed into their last matchup having not scored more than one goal for six straight, but Cumberland let them put that streak behind them. The Knights' defense stepped up to hand the Dukes an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. Buckingham haven't had any issues with Cumberland recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Amelia County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Nottoway 9-1 on Wednesday. Amelia County might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by three goals or more this season.

They hit Nottoway with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ezequiel Garcia Castro (4), Isaac Monge (2), Tommy Morgan (2), and Cameron Headley.

Amelia County's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Buckingham, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Buckingham might still be hurting after the 6-2 loss they got from Amelia County in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
