Camelback's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the South Mountain Jaguars 59-6. With the Spartans ahead 52-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Camelback's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Angel Neria, who threw for 254 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Neria a new career-high in passer rating (154.9). Anthony Scott Jr. was in the mix too, providing Camelback with three scores.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Camelback's defense and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Neria and Mannix Butler, who racked up four sacks between them. Butler is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in each of the last five games he's played.

When it comes to explaining why South Mountain lost, don't look at Jamere Beck. Despite the final result, he rushed for 62 yards and one TD on only five carries. Beck's longest rush was for an impressive 61 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Camelback's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for South Mountain, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Camelback didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 49-14 win against Browne on the 10th. As for South Mountain, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 21-14 defeat against Central on the 9th.
