It was a good run, but Southern unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Monday. They lost 3-0 to the East Hardy Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-17, 25-17.

Southern's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10-1. As for East Hardy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Southern will host Mountain Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for East Hardy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Petersburg on the 21st.
