Basketball Recap: Garfield Finds Home Court Redemption Against Bell

There's no place like home for Garfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 62-53 victory over the Bell Eagles on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Eagles back in December of 2024, they had to take a 47-43 defeat.

Bell lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Aaron Ake, who posted 20 points. That was a full 37.7% of Bell's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jason Nunez, who earned 16 points.

Garfield's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Bell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Garfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-56 victory against Huntington Park on the 27th. As for Bell, they will host Legacy at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
