Lathrop entered their tilt with Central Valley on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Hawks, posting a 42-7 victory. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 321st, while the Hawks are ranked 669th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Treydon Santos and Humza Habibi. Santos rushed for 53 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries while Habibi rushed for 36 yards and one touchdown.

That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Eliseo Lopez and Amaari Harris, who each logged two passes deflected. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Lathrop; they were averaging 63.9%completion percentage earlier this season, but in their last three matchups they've fallen to only 63.9%.
