Baseball Game Preview: De Leon Bearcats vs. Cisco Loboes

The De Leon Bearcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Cisco Loboes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. De Leon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

De Leon took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Cisco a 4-0 shutout.

The result came thanks to Trenton Zmeskal's shutout, as he gave up just seven hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, De Leon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brenner Wright, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

De Leon is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. Cisco has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4-2 record this season.
