Basketball Recap: Beachside Comes Up Short

Beachside and Booker T. Washington squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Beachside had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 66-30 loss at the hands of the Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Barracudas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Wildcats are ranked 17th).

Despite the loss, Beachside still got an impressive performance from Morgan Cremen, who posted 16 points and five steals. Cremen has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 46 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Peyton Edwards, who scored eight points.

Booker T. Washington was led to victory by Jada Clardy and Chamiah Francis. Clardy shot 67% from the field to rack up 19 points and eight boards, while Francis dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most boards Francis has posted since back in January of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Nylah Brooks, who put up eight points and eight rebounds.

Beachside's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Booker T. Washington, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 21-3.

Beachside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Booker T. Washington, they will take on Ponte Vedra at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Sharks have now posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.
