Basketball Recap: Pine Ridge Takes a Loss

Pine Ridge lost against Deltona back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pine Ridge Panthers took a 61-44 bruising from the Deltona Wolves. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wolves 18-8 in the first quarter.

When it comes to explaining why Pine Ridge lost, don't look at Brookelin Murray. Despite the final result, she went 6 for 10 on her way to 16 points in addition to five boards and five steals. Murray has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Imani Ihaza, who posted five points along with 12 rebounds and five steals.

Frantashia Williams continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Deltona, putting up 25 points. Kelsey Assent was another key player, posting 14 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Pine Ridge and nudges their season record down to 3-9. As for Deltona, they moved to 6-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Pine Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-32 defeat against Jones on the 10th. As for Deltona, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 86-6 victory against Crooms Academy on the 10th.
