Aniak is still undefeated this season after their match against Kalskag on Friday, but Kalskag came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Halfbreeds came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Grizzly Bears. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Halfbreeds have posted since December 5, 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Aniak got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-16, 21-25, 15-7.

Aniak's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Kalskag, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-8.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Aniak and Akiak will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another on Friday. As for Kalskag, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Tanalian on the 7th.
