Basketball Recap: Kansas City Christian School Comes Up Short

Kansas City Christian School lost against Bishop Seabury Academy back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Kansas City Christian School Panthers came up short against the Bishop Seabury Academy Seahawks, falling 70-46. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the Seahawks are ranked 57th).

Bishop Seabury Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Marion Stubbs out in front who went 8-for-12 on his way to 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists. The dominant performance gave Stubbs a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Honarvar, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 14 boards.

Kansas City Christian School's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Bishop Seabury Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Coming up, Kansas City Christian School is taking a road trip to take on Bishop Ward at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bishop Seabury Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Maranatha Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Seabury Academy is facing Maranatha Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Maranatha Christian Academy is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
