After a string of five wins, South Elgin's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Conant Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Storm of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

South Elgin was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-19.

Ethan Howell paced South Elgin's offense, picking up six kills. Howell got some help from Damian Hernandez and his eight assists. Luka Jovanovic controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
