Softball Recap: William Byrd Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for William Byrd, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They never let the Fleming Colonels get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Friday. Considering the Terriers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

William Byrd has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Fleming, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Looking ahead, William Byrd will head out on the road to face off against Lord Botetourt at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fleming, they will be playing at home against Martinsville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
