Baseball Game Preview: Caldera vs. Crook County Cowboys

For the second straight game, Caldera will face off against Crook County. Caldera will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Crook County at 4:30 p.m. Caldera is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Caldera turned things around against Crook County on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Cowboys by a score of 8-4.

Parker Russell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Carson Downing was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Ty Hattenhauer was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Caldera kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Crook County dropped their record down to 3-14 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Caldera, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
