Basketball Recap: Logan Takes a Loss

Logan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 59-49 to the Ridgeline Riverhawks. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Riverhawks are ranked 16th).

When it comes to explaining why Logan lost, don't look at Reed Olsen. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 13 on his way to 20 points and seven rebounds. That was a full 40.8% of Logan's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Woolley, who earned 11 points.

Harrison Putnam had an outrageously good game for Ridgeline as he went 6 of 10 on his way to 18 points. Those 18 points gave Putnam a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cooper Hall, who put up 13 points.

Logan's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Ridgeline, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

Logan will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on American Leadership Academy at 1:00 p.m. on December 31st. As for Ridgeline, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 51-40 victory against Spring Creek on the 21st.
