If Thales Academy Apex was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Neuse Christian Academy on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Titans came up short against the St. Thomas More Academy Chancellors on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Titans of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Thales Academy Apex's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Julia Sheng, who had 18 digs and two assists, and Emma Woodard, who had 11 digs and two aces. Sheng has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more digs the last three times she's played.

St. Thomas More Academy found their leader in sophomore Cecilia Dornan, who had 13 digs and two aces. Those 13 digs set a new season-high mark for Dornan. Portia Hale also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Thales Academy Apex's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for St. Thomas More Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.
