Chaminade-Madonna has gone 7-2 against Hialeah Educational Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Lions will take on the Biggie at 3:30 p.m. Chaminade-Madonna will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Chaminade-Madonna barely beat Archbishop McCarthy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions put the hurt on the Mavericks with a sharp 8-1 victory on Tuesday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.
Spencer Krasner tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Miguel Roa was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of John Scott Bishop, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Chaminade-Madonna was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Hialeah Educational Academy had no problem doing just that on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Lions.
The team relied heavily on JOSE AVILES, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
Hialeah Educational Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Chaminade-Madonna, their win bumped their record up to 21-3.
Chaminade-Madonna's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Lions have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Hialeah Educational Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 1.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Chaminade-Madonna continue to outrun the ball?
Chaminade-Madonna came out on top in a nail-biter against Hialeah Educational Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2023, sneaking past 7-6. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Biggie turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
