Recap: Mira Mesa Marauders vs. Eastlake Titans
The Mira Mesa Marauders entered their tilt with the Eastlake Titans with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Mira Mesa narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Eastlake 49-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Mira Mesa has posted yet this season.
Ivorii Seals was her usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Alyssa Otero was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Eastlake still got an impressive performance from Mia Jones, who scored 16 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Helen Rosales, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Eastlake smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mira Mesa only pulled down two offensive rebounds.
Mira Mesa now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Eastlake, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.
Mira Mesa won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lincoln at 6:15 p.m. on January 16th. Lincoln comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Eastlake will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Academy of Our Lady of Peace at 10:30 a.m. on January 20th.
