Volleyball Recap: North Callaway Takes a Loss

If North Callaway was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Montgomery County on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Thunderbirds took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Linn Wildcats on Thursday. The Thunderbirds haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

North Callaway's offense was headlined by Rylee Horstman and Alex Craighead, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Lauren Pezold and her 12 assists. Horstman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

North Callaway's loss dropped their record down to 18-11-3. As for Linn, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7-3 record this season.

North Callaway does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Linn has already played their next match (against Hermann), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
