Volleyball Recap: Holy Family Takes a Loss

If Holy Family was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Evergreen on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers fell just short of The Classical Academy Titans by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Tigers have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Holy Family took The Classical Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-15, 21-25, 22-25, 15-11.

Jordyn Fox paced Holy Family's offense, picking up 15 kills. Fox got some help from Kate Fisher and her 19 assists. Caroline Staff controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

The Classical Academy can attribute much of their success to Mallory Smith, who had 12 digs. Those 12 digs gave Smith a new career-high.

Holy Family's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for The Classical Academy, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 21-2.

As of now, neither Holy Family nor the Titans have any future games scheduled.
