Soccer Recap: Lake Region Comes Up Short

Lake Region fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Fryeburg on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 1-0. Lake Region have struggled against Fryeburg recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Lake Region's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3-4. As for Fryeburg, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Lake Region will venture away from home to challenge North Yarmouth Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fryeburg, they will head out to face off against Sacopee Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fryeburg will be up against Sacopee Valley's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.56 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
