Recap: Alpharetta Raiders vs. Blessed Trinity Titans
After a string of four wins, The Alpharetta Raiders''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 27-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Blessed Trinity. Despite 202 more yards than Blessed Trinity, Alpharetta couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Alpharetta's loss came despite strong showings from Sean Wilson and Dj Bordeaux. Wilson picked up 235 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Bordeaux threw for 342 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt. Wilson's longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.
The critical scores for Blessed Trinity came from Zyon Mckenzie, Brooks Goodman, and Logan Crispo.
One reason for the win was Blessed Trinity's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Leading the way was D.j. Jacobs and his two sacks.
Alpharetta's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Blessed Trinity, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Alpharetta will head out on the road to face off against Roswell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Roswell presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Alpharetta in Georgia (Roswell is ranked 24th, while Alpharetta is ranked 115th). As for Blessed Trinity, they will be playing at home against Lassiter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lassiter is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
