Baseball Recap: Cleveland Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Cleveland ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Grant Generals 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since April 3, 2024.

Arlo Copony made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Copony wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was James Ho, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Miles Whipp also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Cleveland's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-8. As for Grant, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cleveland will venture away from home to face off against Jefferson at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Grant, they will head out to square off against Sprague at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
