Football Game Preview: Islands Sharks vs. Long County Blue Tide + How To Watch

The Islands Sharks are taking a road trip to square off against the Long County Blue Tide at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Islands is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Islands' offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Jenkins on Friday. They were outmatched by the Warriors and fell 49-0. While losing is never fun, the Sharks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 411th, while the Warriors are ranked 56th).

Meanwhile, after only 13 points in their last game, Long County made sure to put some points up on the board against Southeast Bulloch on Friday. The Blue Tide blew past the Yellow Jackets 42-21. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-6.

Islands better keep an eye on Tyrell Grayson. He was instrumental in Long County's win, rushing for 156 yards and two scores while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. That's the most rushing touchdowns Grayson has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Tyler, who rushed for 38 yards and one touchdown.

Long County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 293 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 183 rushing yards in ten consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Long County's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-3. As for Islands, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Islands was taken down by Long County 55-0 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Blue Tide's Jason Familia, who rushed for 162 yards and three TDs on only eight carries. Now that the Sharks know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
