After losing to Heyworth the last time they met, El Paso-Gridley decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Titans walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Hornets on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Titans.

El Paso-Gridley never let Heyworth on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 29-27.

Despite the loss, Heyworth still got an impressive performance from Lyla Tate, who had ten kills and five digs. Tate has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more kills the last 16 times she's played. Kylie Hanslow was another key player, getting ten assists and six digs.

El Paso-Gridley's win bumped their record up to 19-10. As for Heyworth, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-8.

El Paso-Gridley and Heyworth should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Titans (ranked 166th) will meet Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley (ranked 445th) at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Heyworth will square off against Ridgeview at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (148 vs. 492).
