Baseball Game Preview: Bucyrus Redmen vs. Colonel Crawford Eagles

For the second straight game, Bucyrus will face off against Colonel Crawford. The Redmen will be playing at home against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Bucyrus has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Colonel Crawford will arrive with three straight wins.

Bucyrus came up short against Colonel Crawford on Monday, falling 11-4.

For Colonel Crawford's part, Van Wintersteller made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Wintersteller was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Grady Riggle was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one triple. Another player making a difference was Evan Metzger, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Colonel Crawford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Bucyrus' loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Colonel Crawford, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
