Soccer Game Preview: Watertown vs. Livingston Academy

The Watertown Purple Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Livingston Academy Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Watertown's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past East Robertson 5-0. Considering Watertown's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Livingston Academy). They put the hurt on Jackson County with a sharp 8-1 victory on Tuesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded Livingston Academy with their most commanding win of the season.

The win snapped Watertown's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-7 record. As for Livingston Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5-3.

Watertown suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Livingston Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Purple Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
