Football Game Preview: Madison Cubs vs. Milan Indians

Madison is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Milan a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Madison Cubs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Milan Indians at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Madison put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 37-23 win over Corydon Central. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Cubs' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Milan never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past South Decatur 48-0. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Milan's win came from a few key players Madison will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Beckett Langferman, who rushed for 136 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries. Another player making a difference was Grant Langferman, who rushed for 86 yards and a pair of TDs.

Milan was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 381 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Madison's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Milan, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
