Football Recap: Governor Thomas Johnson Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Governor Thomas Johnson extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-3. They received a blow as they fell 34-17 to the South Hagerstown Rebels. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Randy Embrey threw for 208 yards and one touchdown. Dyvae Ambush was his top target, picking up 108 receiving yards and one TD.

South Hagerstown's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

Josiah Davis went supernova, rushing for 221 yards and three scores while picking up 11.1 yards per carry, and also picking up 60 receiving yards and one TD. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Governor Thomas Johnson will face off against Walkersville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 25.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for South Hagerstown, they will take on Catoctin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
