Basketball Recap: De Kalb Takes a Loss

De Kalb and Quitman squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but De Kalb had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Quitman Bulldogs and fell 49-19. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 724th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 247th).

De Kalb's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Quitman, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 26-9 record this season.

De Kalb does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Quitman, they will square off against Bells at 8:00 p.m. on February 21st.
