Softball Recap: Eastern Wayne Warriors vs. North Johnston Panthers

Eastern Wayne proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 13) but on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the North Johnston Panthers. Winning may never get old, but Eastern Wayne sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Mallory Reed was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Reed has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts every time she's pitched this season. Reed was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Eastern Wayne has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for North Johnston, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
