Benicia has enjoyed the comforts of home their last seven games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Miramonte Matadors at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Benicia will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
In what's become a running theme this season, Benicia gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Antioch with a sharp 13-2 win.
Brice Brunson looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (he also didn't allow any walks).
At the plate, Wyatt Miyamoto was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Stevie Todd, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Miramonte's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alhambra on Thursday. Miramonte has not had much luck with Alhambra recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Benicia has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Miramonte, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Benicia came up short against Miramonte when the teams last played back in March of 2023, falling 8-5. Thankfully for Benicia, Matthew Wang (who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
