Preview: Wise Pumas vs. Broadneck Bruins
Wise has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Broadneck Bruins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Wise walked away with it. They blew past the Raiders 62-21 at home. With Wise ahead 45-21 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
DeCarlos Young continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 212 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Young's longest rush was for an incredible 84 yards. Another player making a difference was Peyton Nelson, who rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Broadneck entered their tilt with Churchill with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Everything went Broadneck's way against Churchill on Friday as Broadneck made off with a 31-7 win. Broadneck's victory was all the more impressive since Churchill was averaging only 17 points allowed on the season.
Broadneck can attribute much of their success to Cj Watkins, who rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and also threw for 49 yards and a touchdown.
Wise pushed their record up to 11-1 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.0 points per game. As for Broadneck, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
