Basketball Recap: Luke Shelley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Clinton Central over Fountain Central

Clinton Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 41-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fountain Central Mustangs. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luke Shelley, who shot 71% from the field to rack up 12 points. Another player making a difference was Creed Mennen, who posted 14 points.

Clinton Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Fountain Central, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Clinton Central won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Madison-Grant at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Fountain Central, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Traders Point Christian at 7:30 p.m.
