Montgomery extended their winning streak to six on Thursday, bumping them up to 6-1. They claimed a resounding 56-19 win over the Splendora Wildcats. The Bears' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Montgomery's defense made their presence known, laying out Brayden Hinton six times. Keagan Gilbert was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.

As for Splendora, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 778th, while Montgomery is ranked 190th).

Despite the loss, Splendora still got an impressive performance from Hinton, who threw for 236 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 46 yards. Tj Burch also helped with two touchdowns in total.

Looking ahead, Montgomery will square off against West Fork at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Splendora, they will host Dayton at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Wildcats will be up against the Broncos' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.67 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
