Football Recap: Cosby Comes Up Short

Cosby fell victim to L.C. Bird and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Skyhawks, falling 21-0. The Titans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Skyhawks from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Tyrell Allen and Thomas Delbridge. Allen rushed for 103 yards and a pair of scores while Delbridge rushed for 115 yards. Allen also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because L.C. Bird is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-4 otherwise.

Cosby has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for L.C. Bird, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cosby will take on Monacan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for L.C. Bird, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on James River Midlothian at 7:00 p.m. on November 7. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Allen and Jordan Clarke.
