Basketball Recap: Blue River Valley Takes a Loss

Blue River Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Monroe Central Golden Bears 75-38. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Easton Foster was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 11 boards for Monroe Central. Foster has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Justus Ullom, who went 5 for 8 en route to 14 points and three steals.

Blue River Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Monroe Central, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Blue River Valley has already played their next contest, a 61-39 loss against Union City on the 1st. As for Monroe Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 65-58 defeat against New Castle on the 1st.
