Football Game Preview: Sugar-Salem Diggers vs. Teton Timberwolves + How To Watch

Sugar-Salem is a perfect 10-0 against Teton since October of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Diggers will square off against the Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sugar-Salem has three straight wins, Teton has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Friday, Sugar-Salem got the win against South Fremont by a conclusive 41-20. The Diggers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Frank Fillmore, who rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 128 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 87.5% of his passes. Those 126 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Sam Chappell was in the mix too, providing Sugar-Salem with two scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sugar-Salem was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 334 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 152 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Teton fought the good fight in their overtime game against South Fremont on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They and the Cougars were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 21-20 defeat. The Timberwolves gained 111 more yards on the day, but it was the Cougars that made the best use of them.

Sugar-Salem will need to focus on slowing down Drew Moss, one of several Teton players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 162 receiving yards and one TD. Moss really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 82 yards. Canon Kunz also helped out as he racked up 100 receiving yards.

Teton's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Sugar-Salem, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Everything came up roses for Sugar-Salem against Teton in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 45-7 win. In that matchup, the Diggers amassed a halftime lead of 31-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
