Baseball Recap: Grant County Has No Trouble Against Bracken County

Grant County won the last time they faced Bracken County and things went their way on Monday too. The Braves put the hurt on the Polar Bears with a sharp 16-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Grant County let Seth Tucker and James Ely run wild. Tucker got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Ely went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Grant County is 9-1 when Tucker posts two or more runs, but 1-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kullen Fryman, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Grant County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Grant County's record now sits at 10-6. As for Bracken County, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grant County will welcome Dixie Heights at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bracken County, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Mason County at 5:30 p.m.
