Basketball Game Preview: Notus Pirates vs. North Star Huskies

The Notus Pirates are taking a road trip to challenge the North Star Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Notus has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Notus took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Centennial Baptist, posting a 75-39 victory. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Star). They blew past Gem State Adventist Academy 70-37 on Wednesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Huskies with their most commanding win of the season.

North Star's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-6. As for Notus, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.

Notus strolled past North Star in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 64-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Notus since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
