Baseball Recap: East Rowan Mustangs vs. Central Cabarrus Vikings

East Rowan entered their tilt with Central Cabarrus with 16 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 17. They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Central Cabarrus Vikings on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as East Rowan also won the last time the pair played last Friday.

McCall Henderson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Logan Dyer, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

On Central Cabarrus' side, Garret Black was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of James Cloutier III, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Even though they lost, Central Cabarrus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've managed all season.

East Rowan pushed their record up to 24-1 with that victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. As for Central Cabarrus, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

East Rowan didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-0 win vs. Northwest Cabarrus on the 30th. Central Cabarrus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
