Leon hadn't done well against Lincoln recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Leon Lions skirted past the Lincoln Trojans 12-11. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 16-6 win the Trojans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Leon got a big performance out of Jailyn Nickeo, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Kierstyn Fuller, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

The victory made it two in a row for Leon and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Lincoln, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leon will host Rickards at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lincoln, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Florida State University High School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
