Football Game Preview: Sweetwater Red Devils vs. Otay Ranch Mustangs + How To Watch

Sweetwater is 0-3 against Otay Ranch since October of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Red Devils will be playing at home against the Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. Sweetwater will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.

Sweetwater is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 34-6 victory over Palo Verde Valley. The Red Devils pushed the score to 27-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Yellow Jackets had little chance of recovering from.

Christian Corpus was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 74 yards and three scores. Those 74 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Otay Ranch had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 35-31 W over Olympian on Friday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since November 1, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Sweetwater better focus on containing Jaidon Castillo and Andrew 'AJ' Lopez as the pair were huge in Otay Ranch's win. Castillo rushed for 153 yards while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, while Lopez threw for 124 yards and three TDs.

Otay Ranch was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 238 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

The win got Sweetwater back to even at 3-3. As for Otay Ranch, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
