The Mountain Ridge Miners will take on the Williamsport Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mountain Ridge took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 17-14 win over Northern Garrett. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Miners have posted since October 18, 2024.

Mountain Ridge found their leader in sophomore Jasper Crissman, who rushed for 85 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, Williamsport earned a 21-12 win over South Hagerstown on Thursday.

Mountain Ridge better keep an eye on David Grayton. He was instrumental in Williamsport's win, picking up 130 receiving yards and one TD. Grayton has become a key player for the Wildcats: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 receiving yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Williamsport's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.8 points on average over those games. As for Mountain Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
