Recap: Winston Eagles vs. Town East Christian Eagles
After a string of three wins, the Winston Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Town East Christian on the road and fell 59-24. Having soared to a lofty 59 points in the game before, Winston couldn't push the score so high this time.
Town East Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Cadena, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Cadena has scored at least 25% of Town East Christian's points. Steven Windhorst was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Winston's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Town East Christian, their win bumped their record up to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winston will face off against McCauley Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Town East Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Lifegate Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
