Basketball Game Preview: Cary Imps vs. Athens Drive Jaguars + How To Watch

The Cary Imps will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against the Athens Drive Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cary will be strutting in after a win while Athens Drive will be coming in after a loss.

Cary lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Apex, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's matchup. The Imps were the clear victors by an 82-56 margin over the Cougars on Wednesday. The Imps not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since December 5, 2024 (when they won 81-44).

Meanwhile, Athens Drive unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against Riverside-Durham on Tuesday, falling 54-26. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Cary came up short against Athens Drive when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 54-49. Can the Imps avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
