Baseball Game Preview: Southwest Guilford Cowboys vs. Ledford Panthers

The Southwest Guilford Cowboys will take on the Ledford Panthers at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Southwest Guilford will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Ledford's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Saturday: Southwest Guilford hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. Southwest Guilford put the hurt on Western Guilford with a sharp 13-0 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Cowboys, who have now won five games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Kaden Morgan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in doubles.

In other batting news, Brendan Snider was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles. He is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Ryan Maness also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Ledford unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against East Davidson, falling 10-4.

Southwest Guilford's record is now 6-0. As for Ledford, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Southwest Guilford couldn't quite get it done against Ledford in their previous meeting back in March of 2017 as they fell 6-3. Can Southwest Guilford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
