Basketball Recap: Zaymian Heredia's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Borger over White Deer

Borger was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 22nd straight defeat dating back to last season. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the White Deer Bucks. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bucks 15-4 in the first quarter.

Borger lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Zaymian Heredia, who posted nine points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Christian Garcia, who earned 11 points.

White Deer's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joseph Lenz led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds. Braxton Brown was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards.

Borger's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for White Deer, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-8.
