Recap: Grenada Chargers vs. Olive Branch Conquistadors
The Grenada Chargers pushed their score all the way to 61 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They had to suffer through a rough 88-61 loss at the hands of Olive Branch. While losing is never fun, Grenada can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while Olive Branch is ranked 11th).
Despite the loss, Grenada still got an impressive performance from Caleb Howard, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Howard scored a full 34.4% of Grenada's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jarques Perry was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Grenada's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Olive Branch, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.
Grenada won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Greenville Christian at 5:30 p.m. on December 19th. Olive Branch is on the road again on Thursday and play against Miller Career Academy at 3:30 p.m. on December 21st. Miller Career Academy is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
